About Beauty of Joseon
Inspired by a 19th-century encyclopedia titled Gyuhap Chongseo that described skin care secrets of upper-class Korean women, Beauty of Joseon uses luxurious and efficacious hanbang (traditional Korean herbal medicine) ingredients to create skin care products. Reinterpreting wisdom from the Joseon era with a modern twist, Beauty of Joseon aims to improve the overall condition of skin and resolve skin problems such as roughness, dullness and dehydration. What is Beauty of Joseon known for?
Beauty of Joseon’s most popular skin care products include its Dynasty Cream, Radiance Cleansing Balm and Pure Cloud Bubble Toner, as well as three serums featuring highly concentrated natural ingredients. The Glow Serum contains propolis extract, the Repair Serum contains ginseng root water, and the Calming Serum contains green tea extract.
Offering dense moisture and nourishment with its viscous texture, the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream is made with 29% rice bran water (an ingredient rich in vitamins and minerals), 5% ginseng root water, honey extract, safflower oil and lycium chinense fruit extract. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles while moisturizing and brightening skin. The formula also strengthens the moisture barrier with 2% niacinamide and 2% squalane. The cruelty-free cream is made free of paraben, sulfate, phenoxyethanol, PEG, artificial fragrance and artificial colorant. To use the Dynasty Cream, apply generously all over your face and pat lightly to aid absorption. It can be used both morning and night at the last step of your skin care routine.
Beauty of Joseon’s Radiance Cleansing Balm comes in a sherbet texture that gently melts into skin to remove makeup and impurities. It’s enriched with non-irritating rice bran water and grain extract to provide nourishment, moisture and brightening effects without making skin feel tight. The vegan and cruelty-free cleansing balm is made free of PEG, polyethylene, sulfate, phenoxyethanol, beeswax, essential oil, artificial fragrance and artificial colorant. The renewed version of the Radiance Cleansing Balm comes with a convenient and hygienic one-touch lid and spatula, as well as an upgraded formula that won’t be affected by changes in moisture and humidity levels.
Beauty of Joseon’s Green Plum AHA Bubble Toner is a refreshing and hydrating exfoliating toner that creates bright and refined skin with 3% glycolic acid and 25% fresh green plum water (containing natural AHA ingredients such as citric acid) from Gurye in Korea’s South Jeolla Province. It’s also formulated with anti-inflammatory and detoxifying houttuynia cordata extract, portulaca oleracea extract, rice bran water and honey extract. The yellow-colored Glow Serum is enriched with 60% antioxidant-rich propolis extract, 2% niacinamide, lotus corniculatus seed extract and tamanu seed oil. Its rich, honey-like texture leaves skin moisturized and firm with a non-sticky finish. Beauty of Joseon’s propolis serum improves acne, controls excess sebum, refines pores and brightens skin for a flawless complexion.
The brown-colored Repair Serum features 63% ginseng root water and 3% snail mucin. Ginseng root is rich in saponin, which is effective in preventing pigmentation and wrinkles caused by UV rays as well as retaining moisture. Snail secretion filtrate, which contains collagen and elastin, promotes skin regeneration to repair damaged skin and maintain skin elasticity. The ginseng serum also contains anti-inflammatory licorice and cornus officinalis for enhanced brightening and anti-wrinkle effects. Its luxurious and nourishing consistency is surprisingly lightweight and provides a silky soft finish.
The green-colored Calming Serum contains calming, moisturizing and brightening ingredients, including 76% green tea extract, 2% panthenol, mugwort extract, centella asiatica extract and Vitamin C. The main component of green tea is catechin, which suppresses the synthesis of melanin and removes free radicals, reducing signs of aging. Green tea is also rich in Vitamin C, which helps brighten skin. True to its name, the green tea serum soothes damaged and sensitive skin while protecting it against external stressors to restore healthy and youthful skin.
All three serums are cruelty-free and made with EWG green-grade ingredients. The formulas are free of paraben, mineral oil, phenoxyethanol, PEG and artificial colorant.
